Video Galore!!!
It takes a very long time for video to download to the blog so bear with me on this!! Don't get too used to it!!
Remember if you will, last post I wrote I told you that Sydney calls her belly button her "boobie!!" She does not like to have her belly button touched which I find so funny since I very much dislike it when anyone touches mine - I don't even like to touch it!! Below is the video I got of her and her "boobie"!!
More dancing...
Sydney being silly!!
Below are videos Greg took at the race. The first one is of me running to the finish line. I have my arm up celebrating!! I am running very funny - that is due to all of the pain that my lower back is in!!! If you are wondering what the black things are on my arms - They are running sleeves - at the beginning of the race, they were pulled all the way up my arms because it was so chilly!! The 2nd one is of me right when Greg finds me after the race - I am still in a lot of pain but very happy and excited of what I just accomplished!!
Just look at that smile!!
Sweetie Updates!!
Every night when I put her to bed, she tells me to sing Twinkle-Twinkle. So we turn on the night light, turn on the fan, turn off the lights, cover her up, arrange all of her animals and she holds my hand as I sing to her. Sometimes she sings with me and it's so cute! I then kiss her hand and then she kisses it and we say I love you! I love it as much as she does!
Not only is she the most lovable little girl ever, she is also a very polite little girl when it comes to saying "Thank You!" For instance, there have been a few occasions where she will look at Nana and say, "Thanks for babysitting me Nana!" She said to me yesterday, "Thanks for taking me to the library Mommy!" She is just so thoughtful!!
She still doesn't like to be the in car much - most kids and adults alike don't! But when she starts getting antsy, I will turn up the music and we will both dance. I must look like a mad women driving down the road with head bopping and my arms swinging!! Other times when she gets bored in the car, she starts singing loudly about anything and everything - I love it!! Along with this, when we are at home we often times have music on. When we play some good old rock music it's hilarious because Sydney will start dancing around or playing her air drums and make the silliest faces as she says "yeah!" over and over. So funny!!!
One of her newist things is watching the Smurfs on Direct TV. She calls them the "Snurfs"! She is memorized by them. Brings back many memories as the "Snurfs" were my favorite cartoon when I was young. She had a melt down with Nana this week when Nana was babysitting because she wanted to watch the "Snurfs" and Nana wasn't sure how to run the Direct TV station!
Sydney LOVEs princesses!! We have been renting movies from the library lately. She loved Snow White and right now she is watching Sleeping Beauty!! She also loves witches, dinosaurs, monsters and dragons!!
Some other cute things that come to mind are:
When she gets an "owie" she calls it a "boobie" and when I touch her belly button and ask her what it is she calls it her "boobie"!! It's soooo funny! I have that on video and I will try to post it!
Lastly, something she does with me that I LOVE...sometimes she grabs my checks with the palms of her hands, looks at me in the eyes, and then gives me these loooonng kisses! It makes me laugh every time!!
More to come. For now, enjoy the pictures...
Race Day and Marshmallows!!
Here I am with my free post marathon beer and my medal!! I DID IT!!
This is Laura and I before the race. She was my best running buddy on the team:)
Another picture taken before the big race - 6am ish!!
Sydney has discovered marshmallows!! She loves them so much! In fact, she got mad at Santa (and still talks about it) when he ate all of her marshmallows that she left out for him on Christmas Eve. Below are some pictures of her eating her marshmallows! We can get her to do almost anything with the use of marshmallows!!!
Mmmmmm!

Our little monkey climbing at the park the day after Christmas!!
She is VERY proud of herself because she goes down the "big" slides now!! No more little slides for this girl!!
She loves to swing! Although, she loves it with Daddy more because he pushes her so high!! Mommy has to turn away!

Quick Christmas Notes
On Christmas Eve., we all (including Nana) went to the family service at church. It was fun to sing all of the Christmas songs but the service itself wasn't too impressive - too difficult for Sydney to comprehend. After church we went home to prepare for Santa's visit. Sydney insisted that we leave Santa marshmallows instead of cookies. We carefully placed them in a small bowl on the table and then explained once again to Sydney that these marshmallows were for Santa to eat later that night when he came to bring her presents. She seemed satisfied with the explanation and nicely cooperated with her bedtime routine. The next morning, after our morning snuggles, we decided to go downstairs to see if Santa ate the marshmallows. Greg walked down ahead of us and started the video camera. Once Sydney and I got to the kitchen table I showed her the empty marshmallow bowl. She got so mad because the bowl was empty! I explained that Santa came and ate the marshmallows. She then got mad a Santa!! Then she got a glance of the Christmas Tree and saw that Santa left a play Kitchen. She exclaimed, "A Kitchen!!" and went running for the stairs down to the presents! She stopped at the stairs and kept screaming, "A kitchen! How did Santa bring me a kitchen?" She was totally bewildered and couldn't move. I told her it was okay to go down by her kitchen. She then ran over to the kitchen and was so excited!! Eventually, she started to notice all of the other presents and her huge teddy bear! We have it all on tape!!
After presents, we had sticky buns and played, played, played and played!! Later that day, everyone came over to our house for Sauce and Meatballs and family time. Nana, Paps, JoJo, Aunt Peggy, Uncle Mike, Brian, Annie and Erik all celebrated with us. It was a fantastic day and I felt (and still feel) so very blessed to have the Wades as my family!!
On the 27th, Brian gave Greg and I tickets to the Cardinals game and Nana graciously babysat so we could go. After the game, we went over to the neighbors for a birthday/holiday taco party. We kept Sydney up until 10pm!! The next day, I was very sick! Thank God Nana was in town and could help with Sydney! I had a stomach bug for almost three days!! I was sick on my Mom's birthday -
New Years Eve was a quiet night for us. Greg worked half the day and then came home and cooked a wonderful meal for us! We were in bed by 11pm!! Then next day I got up and went running - felt good to run again as I was down for awhile from being sick!
Yesterday, I took Sydney to the zoo. It was a last minute decision and one that I am so glad we made. The weather was perfect, the crowds were small!! I packed a backpack and put our walking shoes on and we were off. Sydney made it by foot for 3.5 hours!! We then went to the gym after her nap so she could play with the kids in the daycare - she loves it there! She had a hard time falling asleep last night with all of the activity of the day but boy did she sleep in!!
I promise I will get pictures and video up soon.
And a quick update of some Sydney happenings:
Words/phrases she says that are so cute:
"frinces" - princess
"ocean" - lotion
"I need some attention" she says when Daddy and Mommy are hugging or kissing each other
